We have a simple belief that the land is the most important factor to producing an expressive wine. We treat it with kid gloves. We dry farm allowing the vines to send their roots deep for water, extracting intense flavors from our Laurelwood soil and underlying volcanic Jory soil. We use organic farming practices to keep nature in balance closer to the surface. Means more work for us. But we think it shows in the quality of the wine.
We currently ship direct-to consumer in the following states:
Just in time for summer, this Brut Rosé sparkler will delight the senses. Made from two of our Pinot Noir clones, Wadenswil and Dijon 115 and fermented in stainless steel for freshness & vitality. A finish of strawberries & cream with a hint of blackberry bramble makes it a great accompaniment for summer foods.
Made in the traditional method, this sparkling wine is a combination of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Went into secondary fermentation in the bottle in April of 2018 and has been gathering flavors since that time—3 years and 4 months—until disgorging in July of 2021.
Chosen as Wine & Spirits’ ‘Year’s Best US Sparklers’: “Posh & elegant, this wine has a fine mousse and smells nutty and creamy right out of the gate. The flavors are all lemon curd and egg cream, the acids fine and persistent, with a talc-like minerality on the finish. -Patrick Comiskey, 91 Points
Estate Pinot Gris
Picked from a north-facing block of Pinot Gris which maintained its acidity while ripening. Fermented in 100% stainless steel to preserve fruit and freshness.
While technically dry there is a small amount of residual sugar balancing out the intensity of the acid and lending some textural weight. Aromatics run the gamut from citrus and tropical flowers to a more intense fig component.
Perfectly read to drink now. Only 85 cases produced.
Touch of Gold Estate Chardonnay
We went to extra lengths on this limited release Chardonnay as it’s named after our horse, Touch. Actually his full name is “Lucky Touch of Gold”.
Barrel fermented from the estate’s Chardonnay vines and on its lees for 16 months. Reflects the ripe characteristics of the vintage restrained by an early pick in order to maintain balance and acidity. A wine that can be enjoyed now but will improve with age. Touch would give this three neighs.
Very limited production of 37 cases.
91 Points JamesSuckling.com: “Sharp acidity and zesty, flinty and smoky character. Flavorful finish.”
Estate Rosé of Pinot Noir
Comprised entirely of Pinot Noir clone 115 from the highest part of the estate. This Rosé spent six hours on skins prior to pressing. The skin contact adds red-fruited aromatics and gives textural weight.
Hints of citrus and tropical fruits yield to a dominant nose of fresh strawberries. Serve chilled as an accompaniment to food or on its own. A serious Rosé!
Only 85 cases made.
Estate Rosé of Pinot Noir
Made deliberately in a lighter Cote de Provence style. Comprised of two Pinot Noir clones, Dijon 115 and Wadenswil selected for freshness and vitality. Barrel-fermented in 60% neutral oak and 40% stainless steel. Went through partial malolactic fermentation for softness. On lees for 6 months. Pairs wonderfully with any food that has a little kick.
New Release! Only 85 cases made.
Willamette Valley Pinot Noir
Thirty-year-old pinot noir vines grown on Laurelwood soil from the nearby Noren Vineyard. Aged on French oak to produce a lively and approachable wine. If there is such a thing as a Monday to Thursday wine, this it it.
125 cases produced.
Estate Pinot Noir
A blend of all four of our estate Pinot Noir clones–Pommard, Dijon 115, 777/667 and Wadenswil. Aged in a blend of both new and neutral French oak to coax out each clone’s unique contribution.
This blend’s bold color and spicy flavors comes directly from the Estate’s Laurelwood soils.
Only 95 cases produced.
Estate Pinot Noir
Picked from various estate blocks, this wine is a reflection of its place in 2018. The warm and very dry growing season led to wines of intensity. The wine was in barrel for 10 months comprised of 15% new French oak.
This wine shows the characteristics of the vintage with dark red fruit and earthy / spicy notes. The wine has the guts to age for many years. A faithful representation of our property.
Gold Medal at 2020 Oregon Wine Awards
91 Points JamesSuckling.com: “Juicy and velvety with vibrant character and a spicy finish.”
Three Tuxedos Reserve Pinot Noir
Lovingly named after our three tuxedo cats—from whence our bow-tie logo and notched label also derives, this selection comprises the best barrels of the vintage–40% new french oak.
The 2018 vintage produced dense wines in the dark red to black fruit spectrum with an earthiness enhanced by the savory characteristics of our Laurelwood soil. This wine will only get better in time.
92 Points JamesSuckling.com: “Dark, spicy and focused with excellent structure and a savory finish.”
